    The County website has many resources for information, and is intended to be quick and convenient. Commonly viewed information is grouped into five categories, Community Services, Business, Health and Human Care, Justice/Law/and Public Safety, and Visiting. Other sections on the County home page include Quick Links, Your Resources, and What's Happening in the County.
  • First 5 Sacramento Commission
    Uses funds collected from Proposition 10 to fund programs supporting the healthy development of children prenatal to age five, the empowerment of families and the strengthening of communities.
  • Sacramento County Local Child Care & Development Planning Council
    The Council provides a forum for the planning of child care services, advocates for the diverse child care needs of families in Sacramento County, and serves as a forum for current issues in the child care community.

  • Building Child Care
    The Building Child Care (BCC) Project exists to provide a centralized clearinghouse of information and services designed to improve child care providers' access to financial resources for facilities development projects in California.
  • California Association for the Education of Young Children
    CAEYC acts on behalf of the needs and rights of young children with primary focus on the provision of educational services and resources to adults who work with and for children from birth through age eight.
  • California Budget Project
    The CBP is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to promote an understanding of state fiscal issues in order to ensure a healthy public sector based on a fair and equitable tax system.  The CBP produces written reports aimed at state and local government policymakers, advocates, community leaders, and the media.
  • California Child Care Resource and Referral Network
    Provides a listing of local child care resource and referral (R&R) agencies throughout the state, information for child care providers, and parents seeking services, child care legislative updates, and child care data.
  • California Department of Education
    The state agency governed by the California State Board of Education.  CDE's objective is to provide the resources needed for every Californian to have access to first-rate education.  CDE's Child Development Division provides support to all individuals associated with children and families through various child development programs.  The goal is to produce children who are ready to learn and who will successfully continue their educational opportunities.  CDE administers Stage 2 and Stage 3 child care services, which subsidizes child care for income eligible families.

    The Child Care Law Center (CCLC) is a national nonprofit legal services organization that uses legal tools to make high quality, affordable child care available to every child, every family, and every community.
  • Children's Defense Fund
    CDF provides a voice for children who cannot vote, lobby, or speak for themselves, focusing particularly on the needs of poor and minority children and those with disabilities.  CDF educates the nation about the needs of children and encourages preventive investment before they get sick, into trouble, drop out of school, or suffer family breakdown.

    OTCD provides information on California and federal legislation affecting young children.  Focusing on child care and development programs, OTCD also follows current legislative efforts relative to child protection, child safety, education, health, mental health, disabilities, nutrition and public assistance.

National

    A national nonpartisan campaign designed to make the well-being of children a top priority.  Provides information on a variety of children's issues including child care.  
  • FirstGov.gov: The US Government's Official Web Portal
    FirstGov.gov is an easy-to-search, free-access website designed to give you a centralized place to find information from U.S. local, state and federal government agency websites.
  • National Association for the Education of Young Children
    A non-profit professional association dedicated to improving the quality of services provided to young children.  Provides resources for the professional development of teachers and caregivers and operates a voluntary accreditation system for early childhood programs.
  • National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies
    NACCRRA provides technical consultation and resources to member child care resource and referral agencies, as well as information for parents seeking child care, child care professionals and advocates.

    The National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC), a project of the Child Care Bureau, is a national clearinghouse and technical assistance center that links parents, providers, policy-makers, researchers, and the public to early care and education information.

    A national organization with a mission to identify, train and connect local children's activists engaging in advocacy, awareness-raising, and service initiatives.

    Information on Grants and Contracts, Financial Aid, Educational Resources, Research and Statistics, and Policy.  Responsible for administering subsidized child care programs.
