Una nueva herramienta de datos para el sistema de cuidado infantil de Sacramento
Access clear, up-to-date data on child care to support families, providers, and our community.
Child Action is excited to share the launch of a new, data-driven website designed to bring greater clarity to the economics of child care in Sacramento County. This new tool, officially unveiled during our Impact Report webinar on April 29th, offers a comprehensive look at how child care supply and demand are shaping outcomes for families, providers, and the broader workforce.
At its core, the new site brings together multiple data sources into one accessible place, including subsidy utilization, provider capacity, and district-level investments. By connecting these data points, the tool helps illustrate the real-time dynamics of our local child care system – where care is available, where it’s limited, and how those gaps impact working families and employers alike.
What sets this resource apart is its dynamic nature. The site will be updated regularly, allowing partners, policymakers, and community members to access the same current data at the same time. This shared view creates a stronger foundation for collaboration and more aligned decision-making across sectors.
The webpage also provides a clearer picture of how child care funding is being used today and where unmet need remains. By visually identifying the gaps, it helps highlight where additional investments could have the greatest impact in expanding access and strengthening the system.
Ultimately, this new tool is about more than data. It’s about supporting smarter, more strategic decisions that improve outcomes for children, families, and the regional economy.
