در ماه میراث عربی-آمریکایی با یک داستان جشن بگیرید
A time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Arab American communities.
April is Arab American Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Arab American communities. It’s an opportunity to learn, reflect, and create spaces where diverse voices and experiences are seen, valued, and honored.
One meaningful way to engage children in this celebration is through storytelling. We invite you to explore The Proudest Blue, available in our library. While the author, Ibtihaj Muhammad, identifies as a Black Muslim American woman, her story explores experiences that connect to broader themes of identity, belonging, and cultural pride.
This story is about a young girl whose sister wears a hijab for the first time at school. It shows how being proud of who you are can help you stay strong, even when others may not understand.
Reading together can open conversations about kindness, respect, and the importance of embracing who we are. By sharing stories like this, we help encourage empathy & curiosity. These small moments can help children feel safe, included, and proud of who they are.

The Proudest Blue is written by Ibtihaj Muhammad and S.K. Ali. It is now available in the ALL Corner of the Child Action Resource Lending Library.
