Marie Jones is a full-time professor of Early Childhood Education at American River College, where she is dedicated to preparing a competent, equity-minded workforce that values the essential role families play in their children’s lives. She has served as Department Chair, participated in committees focused on student success, and is currently engaged in the Equity Action Institute to deepen her understanding of equity in education.
With more than 30 years in the early childhood field, Marie has served as a Family Child Care Provider, Site Supervisor, Mentor, Teacher, and College Coordinator for the California Early Childhood Mentor Program. She has contributed to education videos and co-authored chapters of the California Early Childhood Curriculum Framework.
Marie holds an AA in ECE from American River College, a BS in Nutrition from CSU Chico, and an MA in Child Development from CSU Sacramento.
