Associate Director of Community Services
Lori Kennedy is Associate Director of Community Engagement at Child Action and a social work professional whose experience helping children and families navigate complex systems informs her collaborative leadership.
She is dedicated to strengthening communities through strategic partnerships, family-centered outreach, and collaborative engagement. Lori leads the agency’s co-location initiative, building trusted partnerships to increase access to services where families live, work, and seek support.
Passionate about creating lasting community impact, Lori partners with community organizations, educational institutions, early childhood organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to strengthen access to child care resources and family support services throughout Sacramento County. She has led efforts to expand outreach, co-location partnerships, cross-sector collaboration, resource navigation, and community event planning, including Child Action’s inaugural Golden Gala celebrating the agency’s 50 years of impact.
Drawing on her experience supporting families through child care subsidy programs, Lori has represented Child Action in meetings with local, state, and federal policymakers, including advocacy efforts in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., helping elevate community perspectives to inform strategies that improve access to quality child care.
