Policy Priorities for an Equitable Child Care System

Child Action has updated our Public Policy Platform to better reflect the current needs of families, child care providers, and the early care and education system across Sacramento County.

For almost 50 years, Child Action has helped families find and pay for child care while supporting early care and education (ECE) professionals. Our vision is that all children and families in Sacramento County will have access to affordable, quality early care and education services.

This refreshed platform strengthens our commitment to fair pay and sustainable funding, while elevating urgent priorities such as protecting families’ access to child care—especially for our most vulnerable communities.

It also expands our focus on reducing enrollment burdens for both families and providers, supporting workforce growth, and advancing regional partnerships that increase access to high-quality care.

Through these updates, we reaffirm our advocacy for an equitable, family-centered child care system that supports those who rely on it most.
