Send a Letter

Send a Letter in 5 Steps

Submitting through the California Legislature’s Position Letter Portal ensures your voice is officially recorded in the committee process.

    Write & Save Your Letter

    Before visiting the portal, write your letter and save it to your computer. Include the bill number (AB or SB), your position (Support or Oppose), your name, and the date.

    Log Into the Portal

    Visit the California Position Letter Portal. Sign in or create an account. Check your email for your temporary password if you’re new.

  3. 3

    Search for the Bill

    Select Assembly (AB) or Senate (SB), enter the bill number, and choose the most recent version. Select all listed committees.

    Choose Your Position

    Select “Support” or “Oppose.” Upload your letter. If a text box appears, paste your letter directly into the box.

  5. 5

    Submit

    Review your entry and click Submit. Your position will now be part of the official legislative record.
