From Dream to Child Care Business

With licensing guidance, training, and ongoing support, Marta opened her own home child care business and continues growing as a provider.

Marta C. | Child Care Provider

Opening my own home child care felt so out of reach for me. I never thought I’d be a full-blown business owner. But Child Action helped make it possible. They walked me through getting licensed, and I opened the doors to Little Grove Home Childcare in Natomas this April.

Mariana W. my coordinator, is amazing. She reached out back in April when a partnership spot opened for me, and she’s been in my corner ever since. She runs our Providers Support Group. She’s warm, she listens, and she follows through.

Haifa Z. has been wonderful too. She’s kept me on track with my training hours and always makes sure I know what’s coming up. I know I can count on her.

They don’t just help me; they help me be the best provider I can be. I’ve finished 18 hours of workshops, and I want to keep growing my knowledge so I can keep getting better for my kiddos. The resources they give me go straight to the children in my care, helping these little ones have big futures.

I’m still in their programs because they keep showing up for me, and I want to keep showing up for them. They helped make my dream possible, and they keep helping me grow it. I’m so grateful for Child Action, for Mariana, and for Haifa.
