Review our 2024-25 Impact Report on Child Care in Sacramento

See how child care supports families, the workforce, and Sacramento County’s economy.

Child care is essential to a strong workforce and thriving communities. When families have access to reliable care, parents can work, children can learn, and local economies can grow.

Child Action’s 2024–2025 Impact Report highlights the impact of these investments across Sacramento County. In the past year, Child Action supported nearly 20,000 children, more than 10,00 families, and approximately 4,500 child care providers.

Beyond direct support, Child Action continues to expand access to care by strengthening the child care system—supporting providers, increasing supply, and investing in high-need areas.

These combined efforts contribute to an estimated $425 million in annual economic impact, reinforcing that child care is not just a family support—it is critical infrastructure for regional growth.

As Sacramento County continues to face child care challenges, ongoing investment and collaboration will be key to ensuring all families have access to the care they need.
