Outreach in Action: Connecting, Supporting and Celebrating Our Community

Univision Back 2 School

It has been a busy and rewarding three weeks for the Outreach team! From back-to-school celebrations to community resource events, Outreach staff have been out in the community building connections, supporting local partners, and helping families access valuable resources.

The team participated in several back-to-school events, including the 4th Annual City of Sacramento Mayor and Vice Mayor Backpack Event, the Univision Back-to-School Event, and the 5th Annual Crown Connection Back-to-School Block Party. These events provided opportunities to connect with students and families as they prepared for the new school year while strengthening relationships with community partners.

The 5th Annual Crown Connection Back-to-School Block Party also included a special recognition for Dr. Juanita Reynolds, who received a Community Impact Award from Crown Connection in recognition of her positive impact and commitment to the community.

Community Engagement staff also supported the Slime Workshop at our co-location site at the North Sacramento Family Resource Center, helping create a fun and engaging experience for participating children and families. Additional outreach engagement included participation in SMUD Lobby Day, the Studio T Arts Laptop Giveaway, and the 16th Annual Community Day at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Whether supporting families, connecting residents with resources, strengthening community partnerships, or celebrating those making a difference, the Outreach team continues to show up and stay connected to the communities we serve.
