Director of Finance

Bernadette Moore is the Director of Finance at Child Action, Inc., bringing more than fifteen years of progressive experience in nonprofit financial management, planning, and compliance. She leads the organization’s financial planning and analysis function, overseeing multi‑year forecasts, scenario modeling, Voluntary Temporary Transfer (VTT) projections, and cash flow planning to support strategic decision‑making. She partners closely with the CFO and department leaders on annual and mid‑year budget development, variance analysis, and financial reporting that translates complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership and the Board.

Bernadette previously served as Assistant Controller at Child Action, where she managed cash accounting, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, government fund reporting, and month‑end close processes. Earlier in her career, she held multiple finance leadership roles at Easter Seals Superior California, ultimately serving as Director of Finance. In that role, she supervised a multi‑functional finance team, coordinated annual audits, improved budgeting processes, and developed long‑term financial strategies in collaboration with executive leadership.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Accounting and several professional credentials, including CFP&A (Wharton Online), Certified Professional Controller (CPC), and FMVA. Her technical expertise includes Sage Intacct, ADP, One Point HCM, Paycom, Raintree, and advanced Excel‑based financial modeling.
