About Child Action

Committed to quality child care in Sacramento County.

Who We Are

At Child Action, we believe every child deserves a strong start, every family deserves support, and every provider deserves to be uplifted. Since 1976, we’ve been a warm and welcoming presence for families across Sacramento County, walking beside them through the journey of finding and affording quality child care.

We are a nonprofit organization rooted in care, compassion and community. Whether you’re looking for child care, providing it or working to improve it, you belong here.

Who We Serve

We help families of all backgrounds find safe, high-quality, and affordable child care that fits their lives.

Providers

We support child care providers as they grow, lead, and care for young children in our community.

Community Partners

We collaborate with leaders who believe every child and caregiver deserves support and opportunity.

Our Purpose, Vision, and Values

We believe in a future where child care is a foundation, not a barrier. These are the values and commitments that shape how we serve, support, and stand alongside our community.

“Child care fuels Sacramento County’s economy—supporting families, strengthening our workforce, and driving growth. Expanding access to quality child care is one of the smartest investments we can make for our region’s future.”
